App Updates for August 2025
Hello there Crucial Tracks community members!
With my (unplanned, but needed) summer development break winding down, I decided to start with a much requested feature: reminder emails
I'm happy to announce that the feature is ready to go and will allow you to set reminders for any, or all, days of the week. Once enabled, you will receive a friendly email each day you select, prompting you to create your entry on Crucial Tracks. The emails are currently sent at 13:00 UTC. That may not be the most optimal time for everyone, but without overcomplicating the feature, I thought it was the best time that served US, Europe, and Australian users (and I'm sure I missed other user countries/time zones! 👋)
I certainly know it's easy to get busy and distracted, so I'm hoping this feature helps all that need the extra nudge to post. With that said, there's a lot of posting going on! Over 1,780 songs shared to date by 155+ community members. Thank you so much for taking part.
Now that the top request is complete, here's what I have up next on my list (not in any specific order):
- More flexibility with reminders (custom time and only send if you haven’t posted for the day)
- More flexibility for posting custom tracks (I'm thinking YouTube and Bandcamp to start)
- More profile badges and challenges
- Revamped homepage and feature page
- YouTube walkthrough of the app and features
- End of Year "Community Wrapped" - top shared songs, artists, and more.
