I'm Freaking Out by Worry Club

Worry Club is a Chicago-based band started by Chase Walsh (singer/songwriter) in January 2020. Over the last 5+ years, Worry Club has released 3 EPs and a number of singles before dropping I’m Freaking Out – their debut full length.

I usually don’t look at EPs when reviewing music, so I wasn’t familiar with Worry Club prior to my first listen of their new album. (I definitely recognized the cover of their 2023 EP, All Frogs Go to Heaven, though…)

Anyway, Worry Club does the emo/lo-fi bedroom pop thing very well. If you are fans of oso oso and quickly, quickly in particular, I think you will definitely dig this record. For me, it hits all the right notes: the emo sing-a-long choruses, the interesting melodic overlays (synth, vocals, etc), the soft-loud guitar dynamics… and just damn catchy songs.

Bonus: they play Buffalo on March 8th. Hopefully I can make it…
