What’s a lyric that resonates deeply with you and why?
The first things you see How he sort of smiled like it's only a joke but he was lying There was something else inside of his eyes All those secrets people tell to little children Are warnings that they give them Like, "Look, I'm unhappy. Please don't make the same mistake as me."
I’ve always been more of a “music” guy than a “lyrics” guy, but if I had to pick one song that really hits me on a lyrical level, it would be "For Mayor in Splitsville" by La Dispute.
It's a song about how the things we care about eventually change, sometimes in ways that leave us feeling stranded with what’s left behind.
