The Beatles

One of my absolute favorite Beatles songs. I think this one perfectly captures the feeling of winter coming to an end.
This one always makes me feel good.

What song would you dedicate to your younger self?
Growing up taught me that people change, expectations fade, and life rarely follows the script you write in your head. This song reminds me to make peace with that.

What's your favorite song to sing in the car?
There’s something about the desperation in this song that makes singing along feel less like karaoke and more like letting everything out for a few minutes. 😂

"Flowers and You" reminds me of my dad every time I hear it. It’s a painful song, but it’s also a reminder that being honest about grief is part of healing, and that’s why it has stayed with me for so many years.

Title Fight
What's your favorite opening line from any song?
I’ve always loved this opening because it refuses to be literal. To me it feels like anxiety, grief, and nostalgia that are translated into images instead of sentences.
It still carries the spirit of punk, but you can already hear Joy Division becoming Joy Division.

What song do you turn to when you need to cry?
I know Lindsey Jordan wrote this song from a perspective that isn’t rooted in belief in God. Ironically, that’s part of why it affects me so much.
I hear someone wrestling with regret, mortality, and the possibility that there’s nothing after this. But because of my own faith, I end up hearing hope where she might have intended uncertainty.
That's the beauty of music... Some songs don't always tell you what to think, they leave enough room for you to bring your own story to them.
