Kehlani is a singer songwriter from Oakland, CA. This self-titled album is their fifth studio album and a followup to 2024’s Crash. Kehlani’s music incorporates R&B/neo-soul with a touch of hip hop.

This self-titled project is one of their strongest, from start to finish. Seventeen tracks coming in at just under an hour, with features from Lil Wayne, Clipse, Missy Elliott, Usher, T-Pain, Cardi B, Big Sean, and others.

While the entire album is strong with solid production, my one complaint is some of the tracks kind of sound similar. I know there’s only so much you can do with mid-90s influenced R&B, but like many artists in this genre I’d prefer to see like 12 really good tracks versus 17 that overlap in many ways.

Regardless of that minor complaint, I highly recommend this record if you are into R&B. It’s got a good vibe and I will definitely be revisiting in the future.
