A song you've seen performed live, or would really like to see performed live?

I moved to California in 1998 and spent the better part of the next seven years attending—and eventually playing—shows all across the basements, clubs, and theaters of Southern California. What that meant was that I was really well placed to see the rise (and sometimes fall) of some bands of the turn-of-the-millennia era whose shows have become legendary. One of those bands was At The Drive-In.

The first time I saw them play they were the second band on a Troubadour bill with Sunday’s Best opening and Knapsack headlining. Knapsack is a great band, and they played a great show that night, but I can’t imagine having to play after At the Drive-in. It was like watching a bomb go off on stage. They remain, to this day, one of the most exciting live bands I have ever seen and this is one of my favorite songs from their all too brief catalogue.
