What’s your favorite track one on a debut album?

One of the best debut albums ever, from an incredibly young Paul Weller and band. Opening with Art School which is raw and full of attitude you’d expect from lads with much more life experience.

Did this give us a taste of what was to come? I don’t think so. I think The Jam surpassed all expectations, starting immediately with their next LP The Modern World and the obvious increase in quality song writing, going from raw to polished in the blink of an eye.

Terrific band, and one that doesn’t seem to age at all.
