This one goes out to the one friend that I know is consistently reading these. For some reason it stuck in my mind even to this day that in my 2007 music post (where even did I post this at the time? It was probably on LiveJournal) I named "Finer Feelings" in my top 10 songs, over the more obvious, and maybe even the more objectively correct, choices like "The Underdog" and "You Got Yr Cherry Bomb," and that friend told me (I'm paraphrasing here) that I was a dumbass for picking a worse song over better ones just because of its sequencing or whatever, and I was kind of like, yeah, probably.

It's just: here's the thing. I love a late-in-the-album banger. The only thing better than a penultimate banger is a last-song banger, which Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga doesn't have. I do love that "Finer Feelings" is an underdog of a banger on an album with a (okay, yes, objectively better) banger literally called "The Underdog." And now that I'm working in a more explicitly subjective venue and not making Claims about "Finer Feelings" being the best song on Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, I can just say: sure, it's not the best. But it's the one I'm most fond of. And being made to defend my choice back in 2007 only made me dig in my heels more.
