A song from the 1960s that you like or means something to you.
This prompt made me think of three songs:
- Si Me Quieres Escribir — Rolando Alarcon
- I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free — Nina Simone
- California Dreamin' — The Mamas & the Papas
These three are songs dear to my heart. They all evoke the feeling that Herbert Marcuse described as "the spectre of a world that could be free." If I need to pick one, I pick Si Me Quieres Escribir (and the whole album). Rolando Alarcon is a staple in my music rotation.
