I think I was about 15 or 16 when I first heard Cosmogramma by Flying Lotus. I definitely didn't "get it" right away but the sounds were so strange and alien to me that it drew me in. I think FlyLo was my first conscious foray into "experimental" or "avant-garde" music, and the sounds within this album expanded my taste, changed how I listened to music, and what I considered musical. Sixteen years after it's original release (ᵕ・ᴗ・) <(omg...) and Cosmogramma still feels as fresh and revolutionary as it did when it first came out.
