I just answered today's prompt a few days ago, so I am going to share a great instrumental version of one of my favorite old soul classics today instead.

What song makes you feel like you're floating?
I can think of several dreamy sounding songs that would fit this prompt, but for today I'm going with a Jeffrey Osborne song. It's a beautiful song and that voice is enough to make me feel like I'm floating. So dreamy! Jeffrey Osborne was once the opening act for Whitney Houston. What a show that would have been! When I saw Whitney live the opening act was South African singer and guitarist Jonathan Butler.
Edit: Correction: It was Whitney Houston that was the opening act for Jeffrey Osborne, not the other way around. It was very early in Whitney's career.
What song do you associate with the current season?
This is my favorite instrumental version of this Gershwin classic.
Today's prompt is to share a song that makes it feel like time is standing still. I answered this prompt back in February with the song "Timeless" by Babbie Mason. That's still my answer. I have no other answer for this question, but I will share a time related song instead. It doesn't make it feel like time is standing still, but it is still time related. This is a song from 2025 that I have played a lot since it was released. I really enjoy it.
I have nothing for today's prompt again. Today I'm just going to share a bluesy song by Aaron Neville that I enjoy. Here's my other image from the Music Taste Analyzer on Chosic.com. It has my eclectic score, 84 out of 100, it says I'm the shapeshifter who's taste changes completely depending on how I feel. That's not really true. I do often listen to songs based on what mood I'm in, but my taste doesn't really change. Just because I'm in the mood for certain songs doesn't mean I don't still love the rest of my music. And as you can see on the image it mentions my emotional range. So, it's not accurate when it says my taste changes based on how I feel, but still pretty accurate otherwise. I thought it was fun using the Music Taste Analyzer.
What's a song that feels like magic every time you hear it?
This is just the kind of beautiful ballad that I love and OH, THAT VOICE!!!! This is both the kind of song and the kind of voice that I miss so much in today's music! How I wish there was a way to bring back songs like this! They are priceless to me.

This song perfectly fits this prompt. I am using this prompt instead of today's prompt because once again, I have nothing for today's prompt. The lyrics of this song were written by the late songwriter Johnny Mercer. After Mercer's death his widow found some lyrics he had written for songs that had never been set to music yet. This song was one of those. She took the lyrics to Barry Manilow and asked him to compose the music for these lyrics, which he did. Barry Manilow's version was released in 1984. My favorite version is this beautiful version sung by Henry Mancini's daughter. Monica released this version in the year 2000.
I don't sing any song in the car, so today I'm just going to post a good old Motown classic. Also, the image is not related to the song, it's just something I wanted to share. It's my eclectic score from the Music Taste Analyzer on Chosic.com. I listen to 84 out of 100 distinct genre families, I scored an 85 out of 100 on sound variety and I scored a 51 out of 100 on how well I blend underground and mainstream artists. I've got one more image from the Music Taste Analyzer. I will share that image some other time.
It's another day that I don't have anything for today's prompt. Today I'm just going to post a hauntingly beautiful instrumental version of a traditional song by Mac Sinise.
Post a cover that's done in a different style than the original version.
I don't have any songs that I only listen to alone, so I am using this prompt instead today. This is the 4th time I've answered this question. Of course I've always loved this Motown classic, but I really love it done in this Bossa Nova style too. I personally think this is a great cover.
