Not sure what my favorite childhood memory would be tbh, the one I’ve been revisiting the most lately is of my first anti-Nazi protest in the early 90s.

Back then it was rather fashionable for the German mainstream to join in on a “Lichterkette“ - standing arm to arm to your neighbors, a candle in hand, forming a chain of lights across your town, your state and beyond.

You’d never expect having to stand up to Nazis to be a positive childhood memory, but today the Neo-Fascist party is leading the polls, the lights long gone the fash is back in fashion across your town, your state, your country and beyond.
