Sure, I'll pull the easy answer for this one. Hell, several times just this year I've mentioned Misirlou to somebody and when they gave me a blank look followed up with "the Pulp Fiction song" and they knew immediately what I meant.

Easy one. Weird Al was the first artist I was really aware of as a kid. Every time Beat It came on the radio I'd ask "is this Beat It or Eat It" and was always disappointed when it was the Michael Jackson one. Then on their Nick Rocks: Video to Go show Nickelodeon would sometimes show the video for Dare to Be Stupid and I was like "this video is great, why don't they play it every day?" For years I only knew the Weird Al versions of most songs.

I never watched MTV growing up so I have a tiny sample size to pick from here. But I remember seeing the video for Sledgehammer on Nickelodeon's music video show as a kid and really enjoying it. I think this and the Ghostbusters theme were like the two top songs on Nick Rocks: Video to Go
