You've Got a Friend / Precious Lord, Take My Hand
Aretha Franklin

Post one of your favorite musical performances from a movie.

I answered this question last month with Mahalia Jackson singing "Trouble of the World" from the funeral scene in "Imitation of Life". Other favorite musical performances from movies I enjoy include "Think" by Aretha Franklin and The Blues Brothers from "The Blues Brothers" and "Joy to the World", "I Love the Lord" and "I Have Nothing" by Whitney Houston from "The Preacher's Wife" and "The Bodyguard", but since I've already posted those songs not too long ago, today I will post I will post Aretha Franklin performing a medley, "You've Got a Friend / Precious Lord, Take My Hand" from her 1972 "Amazing Grace" concert documentary. A documentary counts as a movie, I am sure. Actually, the DVD wasn't released until 2019, but the concert was in 1972. The live album version of this concert is the best selling gospel album of all-time, and it is also the best selling album of Aretha's career. I will post the video for this one, instead of just a 30 second audio clip. By the way, if anyone is interested in seeing it, this entire live concert video can be watched on YouTube for free.
