What is your favourite cover song?

It's a tie between Depeche Mode's version of "Route 66" and the Soft Cell cover of "Tainted Love". Since I posted Soft Cell previously, I'll post this one!

My favorite city is San Francisco and this song is 100% about it.

My mom died about four months ago. She had Parkinson’s and dementia. My stepfather was by her side every minute. The last time I saw her alive she was in a memory care facility and bedridden. He was sitting with her playing this song and it will forever be a sad song for me.

OK wow, I don't mean this to turn into a Depeche Mode heavy thread but I guess it is what it is. One of my favorite vocals of all time is Martin Gore when he sings solo. He has such a soft, warm, but haunting voice. He has a couple solo tracks outside Depeche Mode that are great too ... but I had to pick this because it was the first one that came to mind for this prompt.
